Pranayama, Meditation, and Breathwork Workshop

We hold this special meditation and breathwork workshop during a waxing gibbous moon. A phase of nurturing, reflecting on your big idea that’s worth prioritizing for this moon phase. A time for patience and small action, such as signing up for that next class or workshop. If you feel stuck during this time, you can focus on the next step. It’s a time to get out of your own way and let your breath be your guide.
 
If you’re feeling fatigued, heavy, dull, or emotionally off-kilter, a few minutes of yogic breathing can invigorate, renew, and carry you through your day or a difficult yoga session. In yoga, there are a variety of breathing techniques that can influence and change your experience in asana, relaxation, and meditation. A stronger connection to and control over your breath can allow you to be more in tune with your physical, mental, and emotional bodies, as well as assist anchor your awareness in the present now. Yogis believe that if you can master your breath through pranayama techniques, you will be able to master your mind!

  • I will teach different Pranayama breathing techniques for your own mindfulness and spiritual practice. Pranayama is a fundamental breathwork practice that prepares the body, neurological system, and mind for one-pointed focus, which leads to deeper levels of self-awareness. Most yoga programs in the West now place more emphasis on the physical postures  and less on pranayama, and as a result, we miss out on one of the most fundamental, transforming practices of Yoga. 
  • A breakthrough breathwork class;  This powerful breathing technique fosters cathartic releases of emotional and physical energy.It’s a safe and profound approach to self-discovery and personal empowerment that allows you to access your inner wisdom of higher and altered states of consciousness. This Breathwork technique is done lying down on your back comfortably. Music will play in the background to help motivate, relax and release anything that’s stuck. This will break you out of your same old cycle and clear out stress, anxiety, anger, depression, and other unwanted negative emotions for deep connection.
  • Closing with drawing a mandala: A symbolical arrangement of geometrical shapes. Mandalas are utilized across different spiritual traditions to direct attention of practitioners and adepts, function as a spiritual guidance tool, create a holy space, and assist with meditation and trance induction.

During the experience, one may also feel compelled to move by shaking, undulating, kicking, and so on. You must be able to move and speak freely for any frozen aspects of the body and energy body to truly release.

Breakthrough Breathwork @ Heartsong Healing Center

This self-reflection practice and benefits  can include lower blood pressure, decreased stress levels, and overall increased sense of well-being.

We will begin by sitting in ceremony with Cacao, discussing a theme based on Sonya’s guidance evoking a powerful intention, and experiencing Breathwork in community. Sonya creates a (safe and sacred) energetic environment for everyone to journey inside their hearts, brought together in deep purpose and connection.

Fire ceremony helps us to draw from our souls and recall how we have sat around sacred fires throughout history. Fire is a fantastic tool for helping you transform and shift if you feel “blocked” or are working on what you want to dream into your reality.

Our souls yearn for ceremony at this time of great transition.

Fire aids in transformation. It offers a way to let go of the old story and drama, to transform, refresh, and be reborn. You honor your teachings and outdated belief structures through fire ceremony by burning them and passing them over to Spirit. By releasing these old patterns and beliefs into the fire, you can heal deeply at the soul level without having to go through bodily experiences.

Supermoons aren’t hype, they’re special. Many people now know and use the word supermoon. In fact, we even notice some diehards are starting to use it now. Such is the power of folklore.

This is a powerful time to express with music and the light of the moon. 

 Full moons have to do with creation, manifestation, birth, and rebirth. Because the full moon completes the cycle, it is the symbol of a time of death or change. It is also a time for gathering your wits and tying up loose ends. Basically, the full moon symbolizes the end of a chapter, shedding light on the things that we no longer need to hold on to. A beautiful time for breathwork to purge and release.
